Crash test data will be a lot more useful by September 2007. That's when the information must show up on new vehicle window stickers.
Crash test information has been and still will be available at safercar.gov. New regulations require making information available at the point where consumers are actually shopping for cars--in the showroom, on the sticker. |

The sticker message converts National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash test data to five star ratings, with five stars indicating best performance. Window stickers now include pricing, fuel economy, and equipment for each vehicle.
The "Stars on Cars" ratings will help buyers compare two or more vehicles' ability to withstand a crash and the likelihood of a rollover. The law covers passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, and vans, but not pickup trucks.
